Betty Osborn's parents were missionaries in Mexico where she was born, lived until age 15, and learned to speak Spanish.  She has had a variety of teaching experiences from high school to the present, teaching in, or assisting with, preschool and elementary-age Sunday School, daycare schools and Missionettes. 
     In Texas, over the course of nineteen years, she was a public school teacher in classrooms for K - 3 migrant, bilingual/ESL four-year-olds, and first grade - bilingual.  In Rochester, she has 


been a paraprofessional at the primary and middle school levels for nine years and homeschooled for one year.
     A mother of five, Betty has enjoyed spending time taking her children to, and watching them particiapte in, numerous sports, church and school activities.  She also enjoys walking, biking or playing tennis or other games with her family.  Betty is currently spending the year in Australia with her husband.

Coyla Shepard has taught in public and private schools for a combined total of 13 years. She has also tutored for 15 years  and taught in Good News Clubs for Child Evangelism Fellowship.
In addition to teaching school, she was a children’s leader for Bible Study Fellowship for ten years. She started and led a children’s Bible Study at her church, founded Friendship Place in 1999, and founded the Celiac Support group here in Rochester, Minnesota.
Coyla won the prestigious Volunteer of the Year Award, sponsored and presented by the Rochester Exchange Club.  She enjoys teaching Bible stories, playing in her garden, cooking gluten-free cuisine, and walking on the beach. 
Coyla and her husband have recently retired and now reside on Whidbey Island, Washington.

We are grateful to have Doris Mulholland on our support team as the bookkeeping consultant. Doris has a B.A. degree in Personnel Administration and a minor in Communications. Doris teaches Spanish at Ambassador Academy.  The students look forward to learning Spanish with iMrs. Mulholland.
Doris has 35 years of combined experience as a legal secretary, church secretary, and administrative secretary. She is in her second year of service as State Chaplain for the Minnesota Gideon Auxiliary.
She enjoys working crossword puzzles, traveling, and reading. She sings with the Rochester Civic Choir and is an active member of the Red Hat Club.
Doris Mulholland
Jane Platske graduated from Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin with a B.S. degree in Business Administration. She has continued her studies in the field of teaching and received extensive training in the Montessori Method of education. She has taught in multi-level classrooms for over 20 years. During this time her students have ranged from preschool to high school. In 2004, Jane received the local Teacher of the Year award sponsored by Wal-Mart. 
Jane is an adjunct sign language instructor at Crossroads College and is serving Ambassador Academy as the administrator and lead teacher. 
During her free time Jane enjoys playing various musical instruments, hiking, biking, and reading.

Laura Stevens and her husband, Rick, live in Rochester with their two children Joe and Stephanie, both of whom attend college. 
Laura has twelve years of paraprofessional teaching and coordinating experience. She has substituted in the public school system, served as a coordinator for parent volunteers in the Pinewood school district, worked at a private school doing multi-task duties, and has home schooled her children. Laura enjoys her pets, reading, crafts, garage sales, and family history.
We are grateful to have Laura on our support team as an advisor, substitute teacher, and workshop teacher.
Laura Stevens
Lorie Hirssig comes from Stevens Point, Wisconsin. She graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.S. in social work and has done extensive graduate work in Christian Education at Concordia University.
Lorie has taught in Christian Schools for seven years and currently substitute teaches for the Rochester Public School District. For 13 years, Lorie served in various capacities as co-director with her husband, Scott, at Camp LuWiScMo in Wild Rose, WI.
Lorie enjoys her four children, gardening, reading, and playing the guitar. We are grateful to have Lorie serving on our support team as an advisor and substitute teacher.

Sue Lindskog is the proud grandmother of a baby girl and three children.
Sue worked as a standardized patient for medical students at Mayo Medical College  for 13 years. Currently, she serves as a volunteer at the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Department in the Warrants Division. 
Sue’s interests and talents lie in theatrical productions, acting, sewing, and reading. We are grateful to have Sue on our support team as a multi-task volunteer.

Jenny Doty
     Pam Kohls and her husband of 34 years have three children and two grandchildren.  Pam enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, walking, biking, gardening, and volunteering at church and school.
     Pam has 20 years of experience as an accounting assistant and eight years working in classrooms and at the library as a teacher’s aid during the years their children were in school.
     Pam currently works in the Sunday school department as an elementary superintendent at Rochester Assembly of God Church.
     We are thankful for Pam's expertise and dedication at Ambassador Academy.  The students look forward to her arrival each week and benefit greatly from her assistance.

    Jenny Doty grew up in Rochester.  She and her husband, Jon, have two daughters, ages three and ten.  Jenny comes to Ambassador Academy with a variety of teaching experiences. She homeschooled her daughter for six years and taught unit studies in the homeschool community.  She taught Kindergarten at Ambassador Academy in 2009 and currently teaches science and Bible for grades one through four. 
    She brings her love of God, unit studies, science, and tactile teaching to the
classroom at Ambassador Academy.  Her other interests include bird watching, studying creation, camping, sewing, and spending time with her family.  The students are blessed to have Mrs. Doty as their teacher.  Her creativity and expertise make learning a fun and valuable experience for everyone.
